About Guadalupe's Scholars
Catholic Studies' Guadalupe's Scholars Program helps remove the financial and social obstacles that often prevent students and their families from achieving the goal of a four-year degree from a Catholic university.
We help students not only grow academically, professionally and spiritually, but build the leadership skills needed to make the world better in the workplace, in the broader Latino and Catholic communities, and at home.
Through rigorous academics, strong community, servant leadership development, and engaging faith formation, our Scholars grow in friendship, virtue and character. Personal academic counseling, individualized faculty mentoring and spiritual direction from our program chaplain are some of the reasons that Guadalupe's Scholars achieve success at St. Thomas and well beyond college.

Guadalupe's Scholars Program Pillars
Rigorous Academics
Compliment your professional major with a Catholic studies major or minor while receiving support from a personal academic mentor. This approach provides concrete ways to integrate your future career, faith and family life. Participants must maintain a 3.0 cumulative GPA.
Strong Community
Gatherings develop deep relationships and build community through shared experience. Group dinners provide opportunities for meaningful discussion about student life and professional goals as well as your vocation and mission in life.
Faith Formation
Mass followed by dinner discussion is a favorite Scholar activity, as are retreats and active participation in campus sacramental life. All are part of our integrated approach to spiritual formation and vocational growth.
Servant Leadership
Join a growing network of more than 50 alumni who have a history of vibrant service to the broader Latino community and local bi-lingual Catholic parishes. As you grow in faith and leadership skills, you will mentor high school students on their own journey.

Financially within reach
Accepted Scholars who fully participate in the program are awarded scholarships on an annual basis in addition to their overall St. Thomas financial aid package. Contact us to receive more information about scholarships.
Program eligibility and application
Students who apply to the Guadalupe's Scholars Program have:
- Already been accepted to or are currently enrolled at the University of St. Thomas;
- A 3.0 cumulative high school GPA or maintain a 3.0 cumulative St. Thomas GPA;
- Demonstrated leadership ability; and,
- Two personal references, including one from your parish or church pastor.
