How We Work
We currently offer three different appointment types to support writers online: In-Person, Zoom sessions and Written Feedback.
- In-Person: Writers come to the Center for Writing in JRC 361 during our open hours or on Sunday nights to the O'Shaughnessy-Frey Library. (We follow university guidelines for protecting against COVID-19.)
- Zoom sessions: Students need to be present at the time of the appointment so they can work with a peer consultant in a Zoom meeting to ask questions, get started, plan a paper, or share a draft-in-progress.
- Written Feedback: Students submit a draft with questions and do not need to be present during the appointment. The consultant will review the draft during the appointment time and email it, along with their comments and suggestions, back to the student.
Our Hours and How to Make an Appointment
While walk-ins are welcome, although appointments are recommended. Register with our online appointment system and choose In-Person, Zoom or Written Feedback. Students can also email us with any quick questions, for example about documentation.
