Jared Waln, 2015 1st place winner of the Thursday Musical Annual Artists Competition, is an Adjunct Guitar Instructor as well as the Director of the Guitar Ensemble at the University of St. Thomas. For the past 7 years, he has taught private guitar lessons at Schmitt Music in Anoka, and recently began a partnership with Southwest High School in South Minneapolis under partnership with the MN Guitar Society working under Ruth Lemay. Mr. Waln serves as the principal guitarist for the Church of St. Michael in Stillwater, performs with the MN Opera Orchestra, South Dakota Symphony Orchestra, and La Crosse Symphony regularly, and is currently pursuing his Master’s Degree in K-12 Instrumental Music Education at St. Thomas.
