Associate Dean Kris Wammer has been at St. Thomas since joining the Chemistry Department in 2005. Prior to assuming her role in the College of Arts and Sciences Dean's Office, she was the director of Faculty Development from 2017–2019. Dr. Wammer’s research interests focus on the chemical and microbiological processes that affect the fate of organic contaminants in the environment, with a particular interest in potential impacts of biologically active organic compounds, such as pharmaceuticals, in natural waters. During her time at St. Thomas, she has mentored over thirty undergraduate research students. She is the recipient of several awards at St. Thomas, including Professor of the Year (2017), the Undergraduate Research Award for Faculty (2014) and Aquinas Scholars Honors Program Professor of the Year (2012).
Associate Dean Wammer’s duties include oversight of college budgets, sponsored research, and study abroad programs.
