Initiatives of the CAS Strategic Plan

Elevate Our Profile

The college will effectively communicate its value, the impact of a liberal arts education, and the successes of its programs, faculty, and students.

Working in collaboration with University Advancement and Marketing, Insights, and Communications and with engagement of alumni and other stakeholders, the college will effectively communicate the value of CAS, the impact of a liberal arts education, and the successes of CAS programs, faculty, and students by (a) strengthening awareness and understanding of CAS and (b) cultivating relationships between our students, faculty, alumni, university leadership, and other stakeholders.

Why Is This Important?

CAS efforts are a critical part of the endeavors of the university to raise its regional and national profile, broaden student enrollments, and better engage with alumni and other stakeholders to support its work. Success depends upon CAS effectively communicating its successes and the value of the liberal arts education it provides. Such communication also positively impacts how the CAS community views itself, thus indirectly enhancing motivation, enthusiasm, and morale, which impacts recruitment and retention of students, staff, and faculty.

What Does Success Look Like?

Through coherent and impactful messaging of the identity of the college, the value proposition of the liberal arts education that CAS provides is more broadly and deeply understood across the university, the region, and nationally. Alumni/stakeholder engagement is enhanced and underlies successful philanthropy.

First-Year Goals

  1. Assess existing CAS digital and print materials and initiate improvements for a more cohesive message aligned with the value proposition of the college.
  2. Create college and departmental plans for alumni engagement.
