Getting Started with your MA in Diversity Leadership

This innovative MA in Diversity Leadership program, which provides a degree focused on diversity, equity and inclusion, is designed for individuals at any level of their career who seek the knowledge and skills to support transformational change through a deep understanding of issues of diversity, equity and inclusion. If you are a critical thinker who needs practical tools to lead yourself and others in an inclusive way that builds a sense of belonging, this program is for you.

Application Deadlines and Semester Dates

You can apply to begin your MA in Diversity Leadership 6 times a year.


Spring Semester A:
Submit your application by January 22, 2024 and start class on February 5, 2024.

Spring Semester B:
Submit your application by March 19, 2024 and start class on April 2, 2024.

Summer Semester A:
Submit your application by May 15, 2024 and start class on May 29, 2024.

Summer Semester B:
Submit your application by July 1, 2024 and start class on July 15, 2024.

Fall Semester A:
Submit your application by August 21, 2024 and start class on September 4, 2024.

Fall Semester B:
Submit your application by October 10, 2024 and start class on October 24, 2024.

    Your first step is to start the application online. In the application, you will answer some questions and upload the documents described below. Once you've completed all components you will submit the application and can log back into the portal at any time to check the status of your application materials.

    • Official college transcript(s)
    • Minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.0 (applicants with a GPA of 2.7 - 3.0 will be considered on an individual basis)
    • A Statement of Purpose describing why you are pursuing graduate study and how your intended program will help you achieve your professional goals

    Applications will be reviewed as they are received and you can expect to receive an admission decision within 3 weeks.

    The MA in Diversity Leadership requires the completion of 30 credits or 12, 2.5 credit courses."Total Tuition" is calculated based on current tuition rates.

    Diversity Leadership Scholarship

    The University of St. Thomas offers a Diversity Leadership Scholarship for students applying to the MA in Diversity Leadership program.

    The scholarship is intended for:

    • St. Thomas alumni,
    • St. Thomas faculty and staff,
    • U.S. Veterans and Military Service members,
    • Government employees,
    • First-generation students,
    • NGO employees, and
    • members of historically underrepresented groups in higher education.

    Additionally, all students will have the opportunity to apply for this scholarship within their application based on life experiences that have provided them with distinctive perspectives on diversity leadership. Awards will typically be granted on a per course basis and will apply for up to three years while remaining a student in good standing (maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0).
