Initiatives of the CAS Strategic Plan

Faculty and Staff Compensation and Advancement

The college will address faculty and staff compensation equity.

In collaboration with HR and broader University efforts, the college will address faculty and staff compensation equity through fundraising and other efforts, and will enhance career advancement opportunities for staff.

Why Is This Important?

Equity in compensation for faculty is important for fairness, morale, and recruitment and retention, and faculty compensation is a longstanding issue across the university that is affecting morale. More opportunities for staff career advancement will positively impact recruitment and retention of staff.

What Does Success Look Like?

The college has equitable compensation for faculty and staff and has established opportunities for staff career advancement.

First-Year Goals

  1. Develop a strategy to address the outcomes of the pay equity study.
  2. Review compensation strategies for credit-bearing, high-impact learning experiences (e.g., individual study).
  3. Explore opportunities for staff career advancement.
