What Does Success Look Like?
The number of students participating in CAS study abroad and study away programs equals or exceeds pre-pandemic levels.
The college will focus fundraising efforts on targeted scholarships for CAS students to travel abroad and participate in off-campus opportunities led by CAS faculty.
Study abroad experiences are well-recognized to be beneficial for students, in particular for broadening their perspectives and growing their understanding of the most challenging global challenges humanity faces. Decreasing participation in these experiences is primarily due to the costs. Greater funding of study abroad programs, especially those led by CAS faculty, will reverse the trend and enable greater student engagement and learning.
